The Gastonia Surgical Associates are composed of five Board Certified surgeons. He completed his residency at Episcopal Hospital, Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his residency at Maine Medical Center, Portland. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Callicutt is a native North Carolinian. He completed his General Surgery Residency and Vascular/Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He is Board Certifed in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He has a special interest and skill in minimally invasive/endovascular surgery including peripheral and cerebrovascular angiography, peripheral and carotid angioplasty/stenting, Aortic Aneurysm stent graft repair, and percutaneous atherectomy/laser atherectomy.Click here if using popup blocker Gina Ann Quaid, MD joined GSA on July 3, 2006. Dr. Quaid is originally from Hayward, California. Dr. Quaid is Board Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Surgery. She is a member of numerous medical associations including the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and speaks both English and Spanish. Click here if using popup blocker Scott M. Hovis, MD completed a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Carolinas Medical Center and joined GSA in August of 2007. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. Dr. Hovis has participated in medical mission trips. He currently holds the rank of Major as a medical officer of the Army National Guard and serves as a practicing flight surgeon for the Georgia and North Carolina Army Reserve.
